Embracing your Self through Flower Art
and IFS Meditation

Join Julia Glass, florist and Kelsey Hendrickson, psychotherapist and meditation teacher, for an inspiring 2-hour workshop that combines the creativity of dried flower art with the inner exploration of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and meditation. This unique workshop invites you on a journey to discover and connect with your Self through the power of artistic expression and the wisdom of the IFS model.
First, Kelsey will introduce some concepts on our inner psyche and sense of Self from (IFS). IFS has exploded in popularity in the past few years as it’s a method that allows for all parts of ourselves to be seen, understood and accepted. It has been popularised by Bessel van der Kolk of “The Body Keeps the Score” fame, who is a leader in the field of trauma informed therapy. Next, Kelsey will guide you through a meditation to see, meet and welcome different parts of yourself (the critical part, the judgemental part, the perfectionist part and more) as well as the calm and creative Self which is always there within you. Lastly, we will spend a bit of time journaling or sharing any insights that arose from the meditation.
Spend the final hour of the workshop channelling your creative side by creating a beautiful piece of floral wall art to take home. The art piece is a symbol of your inner Self, a channel of Self expression. We will use beautiful naturally-dried florals to create this unique wall hanging.
You may want to hang it up over a mirror you use frequently at home or somewhere in your house where it is a visual reminder of the calm, connected, compassionate place within you and each of us.
We will finish the workshop with some small snacks and tea to leave you feeling fulfilled and nourished.
The event will take place at the Flowers by Julia G floral studio at 299 Stanmore Road Petersham. Please wear close-toed shoes. There is ample street parking in the nearby back streets.

Julia Glass is a studio-based florist working in the inner western suburbs of Sydney.
She is primarily a wedding and event florist and can create beautiful flowers for your big day or for your next birthday or dinner party, Christening, Baptism, Bar or Bat Mitzvah or other special milestone.
She also creates weekly bouquets for the home or for gifting. Flower delivery generally takes place on Friday afternoons and Saturdays (and other days during the week, upon request), using flowers which I select fresh from the Sydney Flower Market at Flemington. Bespoke gift hampers and plants can also be delivered throughout the week.
