Autumn Rest - Yin Yoga & Gong Meditation

  • Woke Yoga 2/52 Ourimbah Road Mosman, NSW, 2088 Australia (map)

The Autumnal Equinox is a time of transition. It is both a period of gathering for the harvest and of inner reflection, a time to nourish the body and soul for the winter ahead.

The equinox occurs twice a year (spring and autumn) when the day and night are of equal lengths. In ancient times, the autumnal equinox was a period of gathering to celebrate the harvest, to enjoy the fruits planted in spring and tended to throughout summer. It also marked a period of cooler, shorter days, and a time to prepare for the winter months by building immunity and nourishing oneself. As the work of harvest slows, we transition towards a more introspective and quiet place.

Join Galina (meditation teacher) and Kelsey (yoga therapist) to honour this sacred time in the year when we transition from summer to autumn. We will practice a Yin Yoga sequence balancing the Metal element and working with Lung and Large Intestine meridians. Closing with a meditative and healing gong session to take in what you need and let go of what you do not.
