Hello and namaste!

I’m Kelsey, founder of The Space Within

I teach hatha yoga | meditation | Mindfulness | Yoga therapy

It wasn’t always this way…

I am a recovering stress head and former corporate marketing professional who wandered into my first yoga class desperate to learn how to relax.

That first class kicked off a long love affair, I have been practising since 2006, first in Boston, then in New York City and now in Sydney.

My teaching journey began in 2012 - I am now a registered yoga therapist with a BA in Psych and am currently studying for my Masters degree in Psychotherapy.

My passion is teaching yoga to suit the unique needs of my students and helping others learn to unwind and de-stress. My classes include a mixture of breath awareness, mindfulness practices and a little philosophy, all delivered with a down to earth attitude.

I hope that by sharing the practice of yoga, I can lead others on their own journey of self-discovery, transformation, or at least help you find some calm.

Within quiet moments of stillness, we can all find our space within.  Let me help you live a less stressful, more peaceful life.

My Teachers:

MY training Background

500 hours of Hatha Training (RYT) - ISHTA Yoga in New York City under the guidance of Alan Finger.  ISHTA draws on the sciences of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda to inform its teachings and yoga.  Ayurveda is an ancient Indian Medicinal science of well-being, Tantra is a yogic philosophy.  Alan Finger spent his childhood in a South African ashram run by his father, Mani.  Thus, Alan was steeped into yogic traditions from birth and he now brings that wisdom to many students at his studios in New York.  Some of his key influences include, Krishnamacharya, Yogananda and Sivananda.

350 hours of Yoga Therapy Training (AAYT) - with Adore Yoga in Sydney under the training of Nikola Ellis and Joan Miller.  Nikola is trained in the viniyoga tradition, taught by Gary Kraftsow as influenced by T.K.V. Desikachar (the son of Krishnamacharya) and Joan trained in yoga therapy at Phoenix Rising.

Thank you so much for the sessions – you are an excellent yoga teacher with a beautiful style. I find your voice gentle and soothing and the balance of ‘technical’ information and lightness is perfect
